Golden Globe nominated and Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning creator and showrunner George Kay (Hijack, Lupin, The Long Shadow) is bringing a returning legal drama to Sky and NOW - WAR.

The eight-part series delves into the high-stakes lives of London’s most powerful lawyers as firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne clash over a headline-grabbing legal battle, drawing ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, played by Archie Renaux (Alien: Romulus, Upgraded), into a ruthless world where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy and winning is everything.

Series one follows the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and international film star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller), as law firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne stop at nothing to secure victory for their clients.

WAR has been rated 15 for the overall series – meaning it has been deemed unsuitable for children and younger audiences.

This is due to:

• Scenes of a sexual nature
• Use of profanity
• Adult themes that will be considered unsuitable for a younger audience

Yes! It was announced from the start that WAR had been given a two-season order by Sky and HBO.

Season 2 will focus on a completely different legal battle – though it will remain set within the same legal teams.

Marissa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood have been confirmed to star.

It was confirmed in September 2026 – before season 1’s release – that season 2 had already wrapped production.

WAR season 1 runs for eight, hour-long episodes.

Season 2’s runtime is yet to be confirmed.

WAR will air on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK, Ireland and Italy.

In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, it will air on Sky and WOW.

It will also air on HBO and HBO Max in the US, and stream on HBO Max in Australia.
