Episode 1: Rob & Romesh Vs Ballet

It’s fair to say Rob & Rom are clueless when it comes to ballet. So, in an effort to learn as much as they can, and perhaps unlock a hidden talent, they’re off to join the Birmingham Royal Ballet. The duo drop into a training session where they soon discover they might have bitten off more than they can chew. After donning some tights, Rob & Rom are put through their paces and taken through the basics of ballet.

Marion Tait arranges for Rob & Rom to have a key role in the upcoming Swan Lake production, so the pair head to wardrobe to get their outfits measured. As every true athlete knows, recovery is key. So next up, the pair head for an ice bath – cue high-pitched squealing.

The next day the pair are back training before heading to watch the very show they’ll be performing in. After the show, they meet Carlos Acosta – the new Director for the Birmingham Royal Ballet – to get a few tips (and discuss the physique of male ballet dancers). Before long it’s show day and after a terrible dress rehearsal, Rob is devastated to find out his role has been reduced to an extremely minor role alongside Rom. Nonetheless, the pair take to the stage and give it their all.

Who is Marion Tait?

Marion Tait is a former ballerina and Assistant Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet – a role she has held since 2011. Episode 2: Rob & Romesh Vs NBA Basketball

This week Rob & Rom are heading to Los Angeles to learn all about NBA Basketball. Fresh off the plane they head to South Central LA for a lesson in streetball, where they learn the basics. Determined to embrace the culture and live like a true Angeleno, the duo head off for some health and beauty treatments at a LA spa. From trying the latest technology to detect pathogens to having a colonic, we have to hand it to them - the duo get well and truly stuck in.

After their treatments, Rob & Rom head to the Staples Centre to warm up before their halftime shoot out. But luckily for Rob & Rom, during the game they’re told they’ll no longer be performing because “the program is too full” – sounds believable.

A month later and wanting to make it up to the pair, the NBA arrange for Rob & Rom to be part of the in-game entertainment team at the NBA game in Paris. They arrive at the arena where they meet dancer, Salif, who they will be performing with later that evening. If one performance wasn’t enough, Rob & Rom soon discover they will also be joining the Dunking Devils half-time show.

And to top it all off the episode ends with what could be one of the most humiliating interactions Rob has ever experienced. A definite must watch!

Who is Salif Gueye?

Salif Gueye is a French street dancer, who is known for his viral videos on social media. During Rob & Romesh Vs NBA Basketball, Rob & Rom join Salif as his back up dancers during the in-game entertainment.

Episode 3: Rob & Romesh Vs Cricket: South Africa

Next, the boys head to South Africa to experience the world of international cricket, where England are taking on the host nation. First up Rob & Rom meet with Kevin Pietersen (KP) so he can teach them a few basics. After a close call almost breaking Romesh’s wrist with a high-speed bowl, KP is left impressed by Rob’s batting ability. But out on the field it all changes, with Rom coming into his own and showcasing his exceptional fielding skills whilst Rob discovers he has a deep fear of…catching a ball.

The next day Rob & Rom head off for a quick safari ahead of their cricket competition at the upcoming test match. A quick plane ride through a lightning storm later and they’ve arrived. Within hours the pair are roped into helping the gamekeepers with finding out if a rhino is pregnant. How? We’ll spare you the graphics!

Back in Cape Town the pair are off to Table Mountain, with Rom growing ever frustrated at the lack of cricket. A quick wine later and there’s still no sign of cricket…

Who is Kevin Pietersen?

Keving Pietersen is a South-African-born-British former cricketer. KP played for the England team from 2004 to 2015 – and was part of the 2005 team who won the Ashes. He is considered one of England’s greatest and fastest batsmen! In Rob & Rom Vs Cricket, KP takes the pair through some cricket training before setting them a challenge during an upcoming test match where they’ll be attempting to field bats from England-legend Nasser Hussain.

Episode 4: Rob & Romesh Vs Cricket: The Test

In the final episode of Rob & Romesh Vs. Series 2, we’re still in South Africa as the pair take on the world of international cricket. Finally, the pair get to experience the cricket when they head to watch England take on host nation South Africa. Still struggling to understand the rules, Rob - in search of more of a party atmosphere - heads straight to where the Barmy Army are sitting and it’s not long before they’ve managed to get Romesh downing pints.

Then it’s time for Rob & Rom to get kitted up and out on the field to take on their challenge in the jam-packed stadium. With former England captain Nasser Hussain ready to bat and KP commentating, the duo get into their position – right in front of the Barmy Army.

With the competition done and dusted, the pair head to the commentary booth to learn how it’s done – even getting a chance to have a go themselves. Then it’s time to head back out and watch the rest of the match, with Rob & Rom watching England seize the victory.

Who is Nasser Hussain?

Was Romesh a maths teacher?
